Discussion: Can Anything new come out of the Nigerian music industry
The Nigerian music industry has experienced growth over the years, our
artists have come to enjoy acceptance all over the world getting international
features and also bagging international deals and all but can we say we have
really grown?
Gone are the days when you could actually listen to music and still retain your
sanity as in the days of Lagbaja, African China, Idris Abdulkareem, Trybe
Records ,Mohit & the likes. Sadly, the order of the day now is for
every song to sound like the one before with a "blow' desperate
artist screaming something about a ‘yansh’ or Money over a very mediocre *alkaida*
beat.
This trend has grown so much am tempted to ask the big questions, has
Nigerian Entertainment
seen the best of
her days?
Have we grown past making
music that can Entertain & still put our minds to work positively? This and
More have I been pondering over the last few weeks.
Trust be told, there are still a few who haven’t joined the bangwagon of
‘pangolo’ music but they seem to be getting overshadowed So what can we
actually blame for the decadence, could it be the record labels who are eager to
get back returns on their investment, the artists who are desperate to blow or
we the listeners?
Lets Discuss
